We have the latest facilities and equipment that can handle 2.5 million containers per year by adopting the vertical arrangement automation method, stacking containers in a 90 degree angle from the inner wall of the pier, a first in Asia. It has recorded a high growth rate as the accumulated quantity of goods transported reached five million within five years since its opening. It will handle 3.5 million TEU by introducing additional equipment and yard expansion in the future.
Strengths
The latest and the best terminal for mega-sized vessels
Up to four 50,000-ton vessels can berth at the same time. It has the best and the latest equipment in Korea, and in 2018, 20,000 TEU-level vessels are entering regularly.
Optimization of equipment operation
With the vertical automation design and the latest equipment operating system, stevedoring equipment in each section can work independently, resulting in high productivity.
Unmanned automation system available
Entry of people and trucks into the yard is restricted, so congestion or risk of accidents is reduced and CO2 emissions are also reduced.
Work Process

- 1Ship operation : Loading (lading) containers unto the vessels or unloading down on the ground between a ship and the ground using a container crane
- 2Quay transfer operation : A straddle carrier transports containers from a ship’s side (apron) to the end of the container yard on the water’s edge.
- 3Container yard operation : The container yard, the place where containers are loaded, is a fully automated section. ARMGC (Automated Rail Mounted Gantry Crane) works the entire operation including the transport of containers from the container bay to the sea side (straddle carrier operation section) or the ground (external truck container carrying in and out section), fully-automated without manual intervention.
- 4Gate operation : This is where trucks enter and leave the terminal to carry containers in and out. When an external truck enters the gate, the RFID reader checks the number of the external truck before allowing it to pass through. At this time, operations such as the inspection of the outer appearance of a container are automatically carried out using a monitoring system installed on the gate. When passing through the gate, the operation section allocated through pre-transmitted computer data is designated and the driver moves to that section.
